topical: Describes medications, such as ointments, that are applied directly to the skin.

toxin: Any poisonous substance.

ultraviolet: Light at the violet end of the light spectrum that isn't visible to the naked eye.

vascular: Relating to any system in the body used to transport fluids, such as blood vessels and the lymphatic system.

vitiligo: An autoimmune disorder that destroys melanocytes (pigment cells). Symptoms include irregular white skin patches.

xerosis: Dry skin that can occur as people age.

yeast infection: An infection, usually of the vagina, produced by a yeast-like fungus.
